But it was all worth it to see my baby open his eye fully and not have that ulcer smack in the middle of it anymore.
He shook and trembled the whole time we were there. Probably worrying he was going to have his eye bored into again. But he was happy as a clam when we finally got in the car to go home.
This little solar light, that a reader sent me a few years ago, lights up the patio at night. Isn't it pretty?
I still like to sit in this chair and gaze out at my gazebo during the day. Hope the gazebo makes it through the winter.
When I look up, I am right at the level of that big sun on the fence. I've had that thing for years and I love it.
Some leaves are falling and making a big mess on the patio. But there are still so many left on the trees. I don't plan a big clean up until they're pretty much all down.
I may have to borrow someone's leaf blower!
I don't know if anyone else is like me. But when I get home from the only appointment I have scheduled all week, I am so relieved to have that whole week open for just staying home with the pupsters.
I figure the stores and streets will be chaos just before Thanksgiving. I already have everything here that I should need for another week. And that is just how I planned it.
I finished "The Silent Wife."
My daughter gave me three books that she was finished with during our last visit. And all turned out to be great reads.
This book goes to show you that no matter how carefully you plan out your life, things will just happen. Things always happen.
Life is not meant to flow like a river without things drifting along getting caught in the seaweed.
This woman never thought anything bad would happen to her. She felt privileged all her life, and expected her adulthood to be the embodiment of happiness and success.
But she forgot a few things along the way that wind up tripping her up. (Or getting caught in the snare of the seaweed).
She is so surprised by this turn of events that she basically just shuts down. Stops going out. Stops looking ahead.
Hoping beyond hope that she can stop what is happening to her by not actively participating.
But then, we all know that that doesn't work. Time moves right on ahead, whether we're willing to go along with it or not.
Can't stop the clock.
I don't know what I'm going to read next. I'll figure that out later after supper I guess. When I normally go back to the bedroom and pick up a book or my Kindle.
The pupsters are always right behind me. Perfectly happy to curl up on a quilt right beside me.
Oh, the good life.
This...this life I have, that is what I'm thankful for.
