The Boho-Glam apartment of interior designer Sera Hersham-Loftus

The words that immediately come to mind are bohemian, glamorous, decadent, exotic, feminine, eclectic, unique, inspiring and utterly beautiful. It’s a home of many layers. Exposed bricks in places and untreated wooden floors are the backdrop to intricate mouldings on other walls, French antiques, beautiful textiles, lush plants, inherited paintings, and of course her own stunning lamps. Interestingly Sera has painted all of her ceilings black. She says ‘a dark ceiling grounds the space – with white ceilings, everything gets lost’. And she rarely uses overhead lights, so there are wall lights and lamps everywhere which must make the space even more magical at night.
