Taking It Easy

Around noon yesterday, I broke down and took a pain pill. I felt worse than I did the day before or the day before that.

Early in the afternoon, I drove around the corner to Sonic and got a large chocolate malt for lunch. I would not have driven farther than that with a pain pill in my system.

Sonic is less than a block away. And I only have to get out on a public street for a few hundred feet.

I know I need more dental work done. But after this experience, I am not at all anxious to sit in a dentist's chair.

My doctor said I could take shingles medication several days before I go in for dental work.

Still...will that for sure keep this from happening?

This has happened my last two dental visits. So does that mean it might happen every time?

When someone is prodding the inside of my mouth with sharp instruments, are they releasing bacteria that could ultimately cause shingles?

I have groceries like jello and bananas and sherbet. I went to the grocery store Tuesday after my doctor visit while the pharmacy filled my prescriptions.

So yesterday I just sat on the couch with the pupsters in the semi-dark room and slowly sipped my malt.

I spent time deleting pins on my Pinterest boards, pins I thought had grown "stale." And that takes little if any concentration.

Last night, I became weak. But then when it was time that I could take another pain pill, my second, I was surprised that after just a bit I didn't feel as weak.

I found that strange. I know pain pills are for pain. But I don't think they can help you feel stronger. Am I wrong?
