Queen Of The Hill

Don't you think this photo sort of makes Abi queen of the hill? Silly dog. She does the craziest things.

Then here's Charlie. More of your garden variety normal dog. Happy to sniff plants, bark at noises, and chase wildlife.

The gazebo is down. My son-in-law wasn't going to be able to help me with it until at least Sunday.

So I got my step ladder and was out there working on it yesterday morning when my neighbor Charlie came out on his own patio next door.

He saw me and came over to help.

I was worried, because he had back surgery a few months ago and can't do much. And I sure didn't want him to get hurt due to my problem.

But together we managed.

My veggies are coming right along. You can see the lettuce growing above.

My tomato plant took a bit of a hit during the crazy wind the other day. But I think it will be okay.

We residents here learned that our manager has left us. I can't even recall how many different managers have come and gone since I moved here over three years ago. Or maintenance men.

The maintenance guy is leaving soon too. He told me that they're all tired of being questioned by the residents about when things will get repaired or done. And they have no answer.

He said that the management company simply sends all the requests to the owner in Dallas, and he apparently doesn't respond.

He also told me that the tree problem has tripped the owner up every time he tries to sell this place. He refuses to deal with it.

And he told me that the concrete has broken from tree roots and sewage is coming up out of the now open hole.

Guess they will just keep closing down apartments that are affected and not rent them out. Seems ridiculous to me.

But it seems the owner is not willing to put any money up to fix the problem.

I mentioned that the health department could get involved. But the maintenance guy said they've already been out here and didn't do anything about it.

I do love the yellow/gold and purple/lavender theme of my patio gardens this year. It is just a pleasing and soothing color combination to my eye.
