I think maybe I'm done planting. Maybe. I cannot definitively say that of course. As an avid gardener, it behooves me to add that caveat.
I cannot figure out how it is that last year I added that big blue raised flower bed for the dogs to do their business in. And yet, this is the current situation...
Abi does her business in the container gardens.
She will often hop from the first one, on up higher to the second one, and finally end up in the huge rose pot. The thorns apparently don't bother her.
Then brother Charlie, ever the follower, will jump up and do his business right where she did hers.
How to figure out the brains of these two pupsters and why they don't prefer the big blue garden where it's about a foot high and has lots and lots of room is just simply beyond me.
I've tried to take photos so that you can see one end of my patio to the other to get a better idea of the actual size of it.
In the above photo, I am standing at the edge of the gazebo, which I believe is ten by ten feet.
So it is about twelve feet from one side of the gazebo to the fence adjoining my one neighbor.
I have hung the galvanized containers on the fence. I don't believe I'll create water gardens this year.
I already have so much going on that I want to be able to actually walk around without tripping over something.
Secondly, you know I have water damage on the back of my apartment wall. So I have put the container gardens as far from the wall as I could so that I'm not adding to that problem when I water them.
As you can see, Mister Cardinal is now bathing in the bird bath. So let's give him a bit of privacy.
