Yesterday was an unusually cold day for late April.
My daughter picked me up and we ran an errand, then went to eat Mexican food.
Andrew is three now and busy as the proverbial bee. I think he inherited my energy, which wears my poor daughter completely out.
While she went into the store, we sat outside, Andrew in my lap, and we talked and talked. One high energy individual to another.
We talked about the cars around us and the birds. Where the birds might sleep, where they went when it rained.
I think I may have a potential bird lover here, and I will happily build on that. And hopefully a gardener too.
We picked up a giant plant container I'd ordered from Walmart in which to plant my yellow rose.
It doesn't have holes in the bottom, and I can't find my drill. So I guess I'll try pounding nail holes in it.
I'm going to wait a few days, as the weather has been very strange and volatile with rain and wind and cold.
The rose is still sitting in my vintage wagon under the gazebo.
When they brought me home, I had my daughter stop at the manager's office. I had a little birdie to show Andrew.
Just out the back patio door, there is a mourning dove that has been sitting on a precarious nest.
Father mourning dove brings her food, because she is a good mother bird and will not leave her eggs. Andrew was fascinated.
My daughter said a bird is nesting in their front door wreath.
And here I have bird houses up and can't get one bird to nest here.
It was a great outing, to have the opportunity to spend time with them both.
My poor daughter had me (and all my energy) jabbering in one ear, and Andrew (with all his boundless energy) jabbering away in the other.
I imagine she had to go home and rest a bit after that!
The pupsters were ecstatic to see me. Dogs make you feel like a million bucks every time you walk in the door!
As you can see from the photo above, Abi nestled right next to me (Charlie a couple of feet away in his red dog bed) and all was right with their world.
